We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Lead to own the quality strategy for a complex transactional B2B SaaS platform. This person will lead a distributed QA team while remaining actively involved in web, mobile, API, manual, and exploratory testing.

The ideal candidate combines strong QA leadership with practical automation experience and can independently provide direction across multiple teams and time zones.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the overall QA strategy across unit, integration, API, end-to-end, mobile, manual, and exploratory testing.
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate internal, offshore, and nearshore QA engineers.
  • Determine which scenarios should be automated, which should remain manual, and where the highest product risks exist.
  • Build, scale, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable quality gates.
  • Own regression testing, release sign-off criteria, and go/no-go quality recommendations.
  • Conduct hands-on manual and exploratory testing for complex transactional workflows.
  • Manage defect triage, reproduction, prioritization, tracking, and documentation.
  • Partner with engineering teams to shift testing earlier in the development lifecycle.
  • Define and report quality metrics, including automation coverage, escaped defects, pass rates, regression cycle time, and flaky test rates.
  • Promote a culture where quality is embedded throughout the software development process.

Requirements

  • Approximately 7+ years of professional QA or software testing experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing QA engineers.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated end-to-end test suites.
  • Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Maestro, or comparable automation frameworks.
  • Experience leading distributed, offshore, nearshore, or outsourced QA teams.
  • Strong API automation, test-data management, fixtures, and test-environment setup experience.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong manual and exploratory testing skills for complex, stateful workflows.
  • Strong test-case design, defect documentation, and issue reproduction skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in an asynchronous environment.
  • Professional English proficiency.

Technical Environment:

  • Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar web automation tools
  • Maestro or comparable mobile automation frameworks
  • JSON APIs, API automation, fixtures, and test-data management
  • PHP, Laravel, PHPUnit, Behat, Gherkin, or similar technologies
  • React, Remix, TypeScript, or comparable frontend technologies
  • Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines
  • BDD and Gherkin-style test specifications

Preferred Domain Experience:

Experience testing complex, high-volume transactional B2B SaaS products is highly preferred, particularly within:

  • Warehouse Management Systems
  • 3PL and fulfillment technology
  • Logistics and supply chain
  • E-commerce operations
  • ERP platforms
  • Inventory or order-management systems

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building a QA function from scratch.
  • Performance or load testing experience.
  • Familiarity with feature-flag-based release strategies.
  • Experience using observability and monitoring tools for quality or incident response.
  • Experience with AI-assisted or self-healing testing tools.
  • Experience using AI to accelerate test creation, maintenance, or coverage.

Join a highly collaborative engineering environment where you will have the autonomy to shape the quality strategy, improve release confidence, and influence how software is built and delivered.
