DevOps / Operations Tech Lead

We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Operations Tech Lead to lead the technical design, development, and operational excellence of an AI Agent platform.

This role combines hands-on software engineering, technical leadership, DevOps ownership, and production operations leadership. The ideal candidate has strong experience building scalable applications, leading engineering teams, improving production reliability, and owning systems throughout their full lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Python and modern backend development.
• Experience with FastAPI.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Experience managing production systems and operational support processes.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Demonstrated ownership of systems from development through production.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to combine strategic technical leadership with hands-on execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI, Generative AI, or Agentic AI platforms.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting platforms.
• Experience establishing operational KPIs, service level objectives, and reliability metrics.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale production applications.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical design discussions across AI Agent initiatives.
• Establish engineering standards, coding practices, and technical guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers.
• Guide technical decisions and technology selection.
• Break down complex initiatives into actionable technical workstreams.
• Design and develop AI-powered applications using Python, FastAPI, React, and TypeScript.
• Build reusable platform capabilities supporting multiple AI agents and business functions.
• Own CI/CD processes, deployment standards, release management, and platform automation.
• Manage cloud environments and infrastructure services.
• Establish monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting best practices.
• Monitor platform availability, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and remediation for production incidents.
• Define operational KPIs, health metrics, and reliability targets.
• Own and prioritize the operational backlog, including technical debt, platform improvements, bug fixes, security, infrastructure, automation, and developer productivity initiatives.
• Coordinate work across engineering teams and support Agile planning activities.
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
